Read MoreFirst of all I took this course because of Steve and his incredible way to teach music theory and guitar technique. It's simple and clear, and always generous in term of content (even if we will always want more when the content is as good quality than that). I had some notions of tapping before the course, but my middle ring and pinky were weak and inconsistent, plus I didn't knew how to create melodies with tapping, that course gave me all that material to finally create my own riffs (especially with the chords + melody played at the same time). If you are looking to a course that can give you both theory and technique, for the tapping, in the unique math rock way, you are at the best place that exist. Thanks again for this course, and I can't wait for the others. Best. Sam.

Read MoreI have been playing guitar for over 10 years and I have always found it to be difficult to write songs in alternative tuning. Especially if you want to write music in a specific genre like emo or math rock, there is just little information available on the Internet. I found "Let's Talk About Math Rock" channel to be one of the informative ones so I instantly signed up for the course when I saw an announcement. I would say the course fully satisfied my expectations. The FACGCE Module covers all necessary details that go into writing in this alternative tuning, including even how to set up your guitar to ensure the proper intonation. Before the course I found it hard to navigate around the fretboard in FACGCE, but after watching through course materials I can confidently find the right chords. At the end the course also provides several bonuses. I appreciate the downloadable materials which are useful as a quick reference and are great time savers! And I also really appreciate an opportunity to meet with Steve online after the course to discuss the questions related to the course and writing process. Overall I would really recommend this course both to beginners and experts interested in learning emo and math rock music.

Read MoreI have been playing drums for 7 years and Math-rock has been my favorite genre to play and listen to for about 4 of those years. I picked up the guitar this summer and have been playing to tabs, but it was never enough. I wanted to understand this new instrument to the level I have with the drums. This course was perfect to finally getting started in creating and understanding how to translate ideas into my own music. This is an amazing guide that can teach math-rock, and even extend knowledge to all genres. Thank you for the new knowledge!

Read MoreI have been making music for over 10 years, but being a hobbyist music producer I always found it hard to write music in the genre of math rock. In particular dealing with irregular rhythmic patterns and alternative tunings was a major challenge that made me gave up halfway through. This course presented me with a detailed framework and examples that helped me organize my writing ideas and produce my first tracks. It goes in depth into how and what musical techniques are being used in creating a composition and provides detailed examples from contemporary artists. I would highly recommend this course for anyone interested in exploring writing for the math rock genre!
